MISSION

Kardashev is an open-world, procedurally generated, factory building game, set amongst a voxel asteroid belt.

Your mission is to harness energy and ascend the Kardashev Scale. 

 

Mechanically, players test their automation skills as they build out their factory with miners, furnaces and fabricators, expanding the blocks they can use, and therefore the problems they have to solve, through a tech-tree.

 

With omni-directional controls and a voxel generated game space, Kardashev functions with complete player freedom to build and optimize their factories.

Explore the infinite procedural asteroid space world, harness as much energy as possible and build the largest factory that you can.

VINYL STUDIOS IS A MELBOURNE-BASED INDIE GAMES STUDIO. KARDASHEV IS THE FIRST PROJECT THE STUDIO HAS WORKED ON WITH THE MISSION TO MAKE IT THE BEST FACTORY GAME EVER.

THE CORE TEAM CONSISTS OF MELBOURNE LOCALS JAMES, DYLAN, RILEY, AND MITCH.

JAMES

JAMES IS the founder AND LEAD PROGRAMMER OF VINYL STUDIOS AND KARDASHEV. HIS Focus IS on project direction and programming. HE'S A Lifelong gamer, AND wants to create the best factory game out there!

DYLAN

Dylan is the new Game Designer and UI Programmer. He focuses on defining new game mechanics, game balancing, and implementation of UI features. He also used to speedrun Dark Souls 3.

RILEY

Riley  is the Art supervisor AND PRODUCTION LEAD, with a focus on translating modern technology and machinery INto pixels. She is not very good at factory games, but she IS TRYING HER BEST.

MITCH

Mitch is the game's technical artist. he focuses on bringing little blocks to life, animation systems and other visual effects. He is also a solo developer on his own game in his spare time.
